Volunteer with IMWAH

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!

We are refreshing our volunteer database as part of building a stronger and more sustainable volunteer program for 2026–2027.

Our work focuses on creating safe, welcoming, and community-centred spaces for immigrant and migrant women across Nova Scotia. Volunteers help us make this work possible by supporting programs, building connections, and helping create spaces where women feel included, respected, and supported.

Right now, one of our main priorities is sustaining our English Conversation Groups. These groups are an important space for connection, confidence-building, and belonging. We are also creating opportunities for intercultural exchange by welcoming newcomer and non-newcomer volunteers, including Canadian volunteers, to learn from each other and build community together.

If you would like to volunteer with IMWAH, please complete the volunteer intake form below. After you submit the form, your information will be added to our volunteer database.

We review volunteer forms regularly and will contact you when a suitable opportunity becomes available. Current volunteer areas may include English Conversation Group facilitation, session co-hosting, volunteer coordination, partnerships and opportunities, and marketing or content support.

Please review the role descriptions and select the ones you are interested in using the volunteer registration form below.
